January 16th 4:08 p.m.
We launched KV3T this morning, a little chilly but sunny with very mild winds. The balloon looked great, and we left for warmer surroundings. We set up our command post at the local Starbucks, and I posted the pictures below. In the past we’ve gotten signals up to 90 minutes after launch, but after a couple of hours of watching we decided to head home, though the company and coffee was a nice touch. At seven hours after launch, we’re calling this one a nice try but back to the drawing board. We’re checking the weather and looking at another launch on Friday January 21st where we’re currently seeing sun all day and mild winds.
